CATANA YACHTS is a French shipyard founded in 1984 in Cogolen in the south of France. The catamarans are produced at two sites: Canet in Languedoc-Roussillon and Charente-Maritime. Catana very quickly became one of the leaders in the design of motor and sailing catamarans. Its reputation is mainly due to its internal shipbuilding policy, no more than 20 parts are assembled per year. Indeed at its beginnings (between 1984 and 1993) the Cogolin shipyard (Var) built around 5 to 7 boats per year. It therefore emphasizes quality rather than quantity. It also uses Twaron Impact technology, which guarantees the rigidity and resistance of the structure. The company launched its first catamaran in 1985, designed by two travelers and famous designer Lok Crowther. The construction of the catamarans was based on the know-how, research and experiences of sailors. The Catana yachts group line is represented by 4 ranges which offer sailing and motor catamarans from 12 to 28 meters, with asymmetric hulls. The builder is renowned for his design of powerful, large, spacious and particularly well-equipped catamarans. The most recent models produced by the Catana shipyard are the Catana 53 and Ocean Class sailing catamarans. In 2019, the Catana 53 is awarded as Best Best Cruising Multihull Over 50 Feet. In addition, to meet strong demand, Catana is creating a semi-custom department, dedicated to catamarans over 25 meters. The FROLSON team is proud to have and continue to insure yachts produced by CATANA CATAMARANS, through the confidence of our policyholders and our network of partners around the world.
