HANSEYACHTS AG is a German yacht builder based in the Hanseatic town of Greifswald. HanseYachts produces sailboats and motor yachts under different brands, from 9 to 21 meters in length at its sites in Greifswald and Goleniów. Today, the yard is one of the world's three largest manufacturers of ocean going sailing yachts. HanseYachts was founded in 1990 by Michael Schmidt, winner of the Admiral's Cup in 1985. Until 2006 the company was called Yachtzentrum Greifswald. Production and sales began in 1993 with the Hanse 291, the design of which was based on the Aphrodite 291 and the ideas of designers Carl Baier and Bent Elgaard. The Hanse 331, developed from the Finngulf 33, followed later. The group has grown strongly over the past 20 years through a policy of acquiring several sites in Europe. 2007- The Norwegian shipyard FJORD, builder of cruise ships; 2008- MOODY specialist in deck saloon and aft cockpit yachts; 2013- AURELIUS SEALINE English group which offers motor boats; 2017- AURELIUS PRIVILEGE a French catamaran builder. HanseYachts sold 575 boats in the 2018/19 financial year. About 80% of the yachts produced are exported. Every year, HANSEYACHTS is present at the biggest nautical shows, such as the Cannes Boat Show where it presents all its novelties. In 2022 the Hanse 460 was voted European Sailboat of the Year. The FROLSON team is proud to support you, as well as to continue to insure yachts produced by HANSEYACHTS, through the confidence of our policyholders and our network of partners around the world.
