HESEEN Yachts is a Dutch shipyard specializing in superyachts, founded in 1978 by Frans Heesen. The shipyard is located in the town of Oss, in the south of the Netherlands, is considered one of the world leaders in the design and construction of aluminum yachts. Heesen Yachts also has its own interior construction department, based in the nearby town of Winterswijk. The shipyard has the capacity to build yachts up to 83 meters in length and has launched more than 170 yachts since its inception. 1988 is the year of breakthrough of the yard, it was commissioned by the American contractor John Staluppi to build a superyacht capable of making more than 50 knots. The major challenge was successfully met by the yard, the 44-meter superyacht named Octopussy, at the time, was the fastest on record, with a top speed of 53.17 knots. In 2017, the yard also delivered the world's first hybrid-powered fast-displacement superyacht, a 50-meter named Home, the second largest project produced by Heesen Yachts to date. In 2020, faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction site quickly implemented a series of new work practices, in order not only to comply with local and national government directives, but also to protect its workforce. . The site was thus able to continue its operations, but also to keep the various projects under construction on time.
